Port of Itaguai/ Sepetiba is a privileged port and industrial complex due to its strategic location very close to Brazil's most important and largest geo-economic area.
Within a 500 km radius industrial and commercial corporations are located contributing to the formation of some 70% of Brazilian GNP.
Sepetiba is also one of Brazil's and Latin America's harbor to feature highly competitive physical characteristics. It is installed in depths enough to dock large vessels. Soon, the Port of Sepetiba will be Latin America's largest and Southern Atlantic's first harbor to be a major cargo hubport, technically capable to handle over 20 million tons per year.
